End of season
Your role as coach at Carina Redsox is an important one. To help you get started we have created this guide which aims to answer all of your initial questions. Please take the time to read through the information provided.
At the end of each season the club presents awards to players. Awards are presented at the Junior end-of-season celebration (awards for junior teams plus perpetual awards applicable to junior players or parents) or at the Senior end-of-season celebration (awards for senior teams plus perpetual awards applicable to senior players).
Seven perpetual awards are given each season. The award winners are chosen by the club committee.
Senior teams Awards
Each senior team (including Masters) gives four awards each season: MVP (chosen by the coach), Players’ Player (chosen by teammates), Batting (based on team statistics), Golden Glove (based on team statistics). Coaches are required to notify the Senior VP of award winners at least two weeks before the end of the regular playing season.
Junior teams Awards
All teeball and rookie ball players are awarded a medal at the end of the season.
For players in Little League and above, each team gives two awards each season: MVP (chosen by the coach) and Players’ Player (chosen by teammates). Coaches are required to notify the Junior VP of award winners at least three weeks before the end of the regular playing season.
Teams love to come together to celebrate the highs and lows of the season just finished. The club divides the celebrations in to two different events: Junior end-of-season celebrations and Senior end-of-season celebrations.
Junior end-of-season celebrations
The club aims to hold the celebration immediately after the junior season finishes and prior to the Term 2 school holidays. Traditionally, we hold the celebration at the Clem Jones Centre pool area. Teams trophies and photos are distributed and the players and their families can enjoy a sausage sizzle (provided by the club) and an afternoon by the pool.
Senior end-of-season celebrations
Senior celebrations are typically planned for a Saturday night a few weeks after the end of the playing season. The Club has used a number of different venues for this event. It is at this event that club and team trophies are awarded.
