Award winners

President Shield – This is awarded to a player who has performed in an outstanding manner throughout the season Kylan Pearce – After nursing injury early in the season Kylan returned to win a National Title with Queensland and win the MVP for the Senior League Bandits. Kylan also joined our Senior Division 1&2 Squad making his Division 1 debut. He finished the season with an impressive rookie season batting average of .400 in Division 2 and patrolled the outfield with elite defence. We look forward to watching Kylan take the next step with a full season in the Division 1&2 squad next season.

Hank Roebig Award – Awarded to a junior member competing at the highest level of the club Caylan Van Hilst – Caylan has been the most consistent junior in our senior divisions over the past two seasons. Making his Senior Division 1 catching debut this year Caylan continues to develop as a player and become an integral part of our Senior Club. As the Division 2 primary catcher for the majority of the season he also spent time leading the team in OBP and errors. Always happy to volunteer to assist the club we are proud to have Caylan as a member of the Redsox and excited for his future with us.

David J Parkin Memorial Shield – This Award is given to a Senior player in the lower grades, including Masters, in memory of Dave Parking who sadly passed away from an asthma attack whilst playing. Drew Meyer – Since joining the club a couple of seasons ago Drew has developed as an integral member both on and off the field. Filling in when required across multiple teams Drew has always been happy to help and we are in debt of his determination and passion for the club and sport.

Clubman of the Year – This award is given to the player or volunteer who’s actions have advanced the entirety of club in aa exemplary manner Mark Donne – The Carina Leagues Redsox are a greater club for having Mark as a member, the hours of his own time he has dedicated to our facilities has been nothing short of amazing. His work ethic, attention to detail and pride he shows is something to behold and we are extremely grateful for everything he has done. From leading the charge on our new hitting facility to the day to day maintenance of the field Mark has dedicated hundreds of hours of his personal time to the club and its facilities and his wealth of knowledge will help us well into the future.

Junior President’s Shield  – Tom Feenstra. Tom is a member of our u16 Bandits team. He obtained his Level 2 umpiring accreditation this season and has umpired many of our junior games taking a tremendous load off our parental volunteers.

Junior Clubmans’s Award – Tony Bartlett. Tony has made an amazing contribution to then club’s facilities this season. He has done many of our handyman duties and helped prepare the field for games each week particularly in wet weather.  He also gave up his own time to player a major part in the construction of the new batting cages.

Junior Coaching Award – Connor Laverty, Connor is the coach of our Junior League (u14) Bandits team who won all their games this season and plays for the club in our Div 1 team. Connor has done a fantastic job with his team this season not only in preparing the team but also being a role model in and has also assisted other junior teams at training. He also regularly helps out in field preparation.
