Although there are two groups within U14’s, unlike U12’s there are no game play or rule differences between Division 1 & 2. The field size is still slightly reduced from the full size but the full rules apply, runners can “take leads”, but can also be “picked off”, “balks” are introduced.

Some players will receive an invitation to participate in the Brightkey Redsox Academy Squad. There is also the opportunity for exposure at a representative level. Carina RedSox is one of four members of the Brisbane Metro Association which enters teams in the State Championships each year and who often progress to the Australian National Junior League Finals.

Training will commence mid Aug with first game likely to be Oct 7. The regular season usually consists of 9 to 10 Saturdays in School Term 4 with another 6 to 7 Saturdays In Term 1 after school returns from the Xmas break. Finals are usually held in the last 2 weeks of Term 1. There are no games or training during the Xmas school holiday period.

If you have any questions about playing Junior baseball with the Carina Redsox, please feel free to contact our Junior Vice President or our Junior Development Officer.

Teams from U8 to Little League Minors are selected as evenly as possible.
